Check out Matteson at the Hug Life show at Hugs bar in Williamsburg at 8pm (map).  He’ll be performting along with Tim Molloy, Sean Donnelly (NYC Alum), Matteson Perry, Nick Cobb (NYC Alum), and John Anderson.  The show is run by Luke Cunningham (and others), who played the New Young comedians show in October.

Sean Patton, who killed at the New Young Comedians show on October 22nd, was recently named one of the Top Emerging Comics by askmen.com.

See the article here.  We’re not surprised to see his name on the list, as he’s one of our favorite comics.  His mixture of the dark and the absurd makes for a sense of humor that is one of the most unique on the scene today. …you missed a GREAT show (click on the photo to see a full set of pics).  Even we were blown away by the awesome amount of comedy that was made in front of a standing room only crowd at Karma Lounge last night.  Our already awesome line up ( John Mulaney (SNL) Jiwon Lee (Winner-NBC StandUp for Diversity), Adam Newman (College Humor TV), Mike Drucker (The Onion, McSweeney’s)) was made even better by Barry Rothbart and Pete Holmes stopping by.

After a long show of quality comedy, the night culminated with Mulaney, who lived up to his reputation as one of the best young comics in New York.  The SNL writer had the audience roaring and finished the set by calling Pete Holmes back on stage to perform a series of two man mini-sketches called “Soup” “Bus” “Shoes” and “The ending of Michael Clayton.”  And yes they were as absurd and hilarious as they sound.

Thanks to all that came.  We hope you enjoyed the comedy (and the brownies) and we hope to see you at our next show, Friday February 20th (Line up to be announced soon).
